*Peeks & Runs*

While my sister and mother are watching the American Idol finale; I chose to disappear in the kitchen because I'm no longer interested in that show. I've never really watched any season other than season five 2006 when Taylor won. I used to spend most of the weekends with Hana Banana and she was a huge fan of Daughtry, which made me sort of a fan. Now every season in the same for me, even the Arabic version, one season and I'm bored.

Back to the kitchen, nothing serious is going on, Iron Chef Mario Batali was busy with small lobster on Fatafeet TV, so I was just following mom's direction and dicing boring vegetables and boiling them. Rumor has it there will be chicken and vegetables pie.

Anyways, I've been busy with university papers, which still have some work to do. Busy with my atelier and the gekos and how to get rid of them. I can't believe they kept me away from my work for about a week! I just hate them and can't stand them being around, so coward, silly, weak, call me what you will.

Yesterday, I spent the entire day at hospital doing check-ups and thank God, I'm all fine.

That's not all but at least for now
Talk to you soon

I have never watched American Idol. However, when I was a kid, there was a somewhat similar show called The Gong Show. Contestants would come on the show and perform their talent. Some would sing, some would dance, some told jokes, etc. Anyway, if the judges hated their performance, they could stand up and beat a huge gong to end their agony. :D

I know Iron Chef Mario. I sometimes watch the cooking channel. I was a big fan of the original Japanese Iron Chef show. The American version is based on that show. The Chairman of the American show is the grandson of the Chairman of the Japanese show. So, did you ever watch Bobby Flay in his Throwdown show? He is another good chef who competes with other chefs. He may also be an Iron Chef, I'm not sure.

I like chicken and vegetable pie, as long as it has no peas! ;) Over here, we call it chicken pot pie.

Good luck with your school papers! If I was trying to study and geckos were running up and down the walls, I would be very distracted too! ;)

Glad to hear you are healthy. :) I am trying to stay that way too by walking every day and trying to eat good food.

I never got into American Idol. I didn't really like the judges very much. I was more a Dancing With the Stars fan. Although it's getting kinda stale now.

Hmmm...have you Googled gekos on the internet to see if there is something that you can use to get rid of them? Maybe they can't stand Cayenne Pepper or something? :D

Glad to hear you had a clean bill of health. :)

David,

Thank you, but some health issues has nothing to do with how you eat and your style of living. All about genes :)

Good to know there ARE people not watching the American Idol like boring me. But some Talents shows are really funny.

Bobby Flay is an Iron Chef, indeed. He has more than one show and I've seen some of the on our cooking channel Fatafeat.com check their website. it's in Arabic but see the photos if you like.

You have a problem with peas! :O I love peas and yes of course there were half a bag of peas in that pie!

Oh, and I wasn't studying when geckos. Their resident is close to or almost where I work on my arts.

Khalid,
thank you for your words.

Lynnette,
I watched a couple of seasons of So You Think You Can Dance, and as you said, such shows get stale later.

About geckos, I read that they are afraid of birds, therefore, it is said that it's useful to crush eggs where they appear to drive them away.

Thank you :)

Half a bag of peas! I would run far away from that pie!! ;)

I have a theory about peas and carrots. Some people I know love peas and hate carrots. However, I love carrots and hate peas. I suspect it is some genetic difference in the taste buds. So Attawie, do you hate carrots?

I'm not sure if geckos would be afraid of bird eggs. I'll bet they would run away from a small hawk though. Maybe you could hang up a fake hawk in your art studio to scare them. :)

David,
Runaway from peas! why!? why?! and No, why would I hate carrots? I love carrots in all colours ans sizes. and let's say in that pie there were a lot of peas hanging out with their orange dudes, that's carrots :)

and about birds and geckos, it's a way to fool geckos. they would think there are birds in this area so they would runaway. Never tried it and that's just what I read :D

Allah ysalmak :)

Actually, lately I've been busy finishing my thesis, and experimenting new techniques and trying to find a new style of my own in ceramics. Most of the works are still waiting to be fired in the kiln and then coloured :)

a gecko went in, that's inside the kiln :| and delayed my work and has been driving me away from my atelier. Yesterday I went there and sanitize the place, hoping tomorrow I'll go back to my artworks :)

I do have some photos but of unfinished artworks only :)

Dearest attawie,
I have a good idea: raising a cat will solve your problem permanently!
I suspect that you hate cats as well, do you? Any way cats are much better and cuter that ugly geckos.
Glad that you are in a good health. Wish you all the best.
Emmm, I’m still waiting for your kind replay :)
Regards,

Zhrah,

Thank you dear.
Raising a cat is a good idea specially when the the cat in the garden just gave birth to three cute tiny kittens. Maybe that's what driving geckos crazy and making them escape the hungry mother and come into my place.

I took photos for the kittens, will share later inshaAllah. but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to let them in.

يعني عندي ادوات جارحة و طين و هوسه و اذا شي واحد يتحرك تنقلب الدنيا يمي
هههههه

Touta!
I was just rambling :)
American Idol is a singing talent show, there's UK Idol, and other countries has the same program too. Same as Super Star for Arab Countries and lately I discovered there's Afghan Star :| all boring. you're missing nothing.

As for Iron Chef, Mario, and the rest.. It's a Japanese cooking battles "Ironman Cher" and the American version of the show is Iron Chef.

Fatafeat, as an Arabic channel that broadcast all cooking programs from Martha Stewart, Jamie Oliver to silly arabic cooking programs :)

Now imagine this scene:
Touta sitting for exams first question she reads and still can't believe it. Does it say "Define the following terms: American idol, Iron Chef, Fatafeat.."

goooo baaaack tooo yoooour studyyyyy

:D

I'm just messing with you. yalla you know what to do now :P
