So the Earth is round after all!

Well, the Earth is certainly round, but this picture is taken through a "fish-eye" or wide angle lens which really exaggerates the roundness. :)

Yesterday, I read about a new Dubai tower project that proposes to build a tower one kilometer high! It will be much taller than the Burj Dubai.

So, when the Burj Dubai is completed would you like to ride the elevators to the top of the building to look out the windows? I am sure they will have an observatory level which the public is invited to visit.

true David, we hear about such projects everyday. I think dubai will be a big fine fair with multiple theme parks :)

I've been thinking of high jumping for a while now, like bungee or parachuting, that yesterday i had dream I was jumping from an airplane. it was fun! So if they would allow jumping it would be fun.

Have you been snow skiing yet Attawie? I know there is an indoor ski slope there. :)

I think I might like to parachute some time. I went to an amusement part in my teens where they had a very tall tower that would take you up high in a basket and then let you parachute back down. The basket was always connected to a cable, so it was quite safe. I really enjoyed the sensation of falling and then slowing down from the parachute. I rode it again and again. :D

I don't think that I would like to bungee jump though. Watching it done on TV makes me feel uncomfortable.

There is a type of parachuting called base jumping. Base jumpers leap from tall buildings, bridges, cliffs, etc. They usually have to open their parachutes almost immediately. However, from the top of the Burj Dubai, I suppose they could fall for a few seconds before opening the chute.

I didn't notice the lamp. Good eye Khalid! Its purpose is simple. Its for night time construction.

I just read a disturbing article about the illegal dumping of sewage in Dubai. If you go to the beach, Attawie, it may not be safe to go in the water right now. Here is a link:

Oh I don't know how it slipped from my mind and i forgot i didn't reply in here.

No David, I haven't been to ski Dubai yet. Maybe it would be the next adventure. I went with my cousins though. We had them to spend a day there for training.

I like skydiving. I remember I used to watch a program on tv when i was a child. I liked to watch these groups of people who jump from an airplane and then swim in the air. I think they are simply amazing!

Thanks for the link. I haven't heard about that.

oh I think khalid didn't mean to ask what would the light do up there :D

This was an interesting article. I have never seen a whale shark. You could go to the hotel and see it. :)
